César Vezzani, born on August 8, 1888, in Bastia, Corsica, was an operatic tenor. He studied singing in Paris under Agnès Borgo starting in 1908 and debuted at the Opéra-Comique in 1911 with Richard Coeur-de-Lion by Grétry. Vezzani's career was interrupted by World War I, during which he was wounded. Post-war, he resumed performing primarily in provincial opera houses across France and Brussels. He returned to the Opéra-Comique in Paris in 1921/1922. During World War II, Vezzani sang frequently in Algiers. His final performances were as principal tenor in Toulon until a stroke in 1948 left him paralyzed. He died on November 11, 1951, in Marseille.
