Deolinda was a Portuguese musical group formed in 2006 in Lisbon. The ensemble consisted of vocalist Ana Bacalhau, brothers Pedro da Silva Martins and Luís José Martins, and Bacalhau's husband, bassist José Pedro Leitão. Inspired by traditional fado but incorporating pop and world music elements, the band performed from the perspective of a fictional character named Deolinda. Their debut studio album, Canção ao lado, was released in 2008 and achieved quadruple platinum status in Portugal. The group reached Number 1 on the national charts with their second album, Dois selos e um carimbo, in 2010. Known for social and political commentary, their song “Parva que sou” became a generation's anthem during the 2011 economic crisis. Deolinda performed internationally at festivals such as the World Music Expo and the Festival Internacional Cervantino. After releasing the albums Mundo pequenino in 2013 and Outras histórias in 2016, the band announced an indefinite hiatus in November 2017.
