Ramiro José Musotto, born on October 31, 1963, in La Plata, Argentina, was a percussionist and composer known for his contributions to world music. He spent his early years in Bahía Blanca, studying with Carlos Giménez and playing in the local symphony orchestra. Musotto moved to Salvador, Brazil, later relocating to Rio de Janeiro before returning to Salvador in 2004 to pursue his solo career. Musotto's debut album, Sudaka, released in 2003, showcased his innovative approach to electronic music. In 2006, he released Civilizacao & Barbarye. Musotto collaborated extensively with prominent Brazilian musicians, including Skank, Lenine, Marisa Monte, and Caetano Veloso. He passed away on September 11, 2009, at the age of 45, due to pancreatic cancer.
