Dornenreich, a metal music band from Austria, was founded in 1996 by Thomas “Valñes” Stock. The group initially chose the name Dornenreich for its versatile interpretive possibilities. In April 1997, Moritz “Gilván” Neuner joined the band. Their debut album, Nicht um zu sterben, was released in 1997 and marked their first significant release. In 2001, Dornenreich released Her von welken Nächten, which later earned a silver record award from the European IMPALA organization in 2012. After Hexenwind (2005) and Durch den Traum (2006), Thomas “Valñes” Stock left the band in April 2006 to pursue his project Eyas, and Thomas “Ínve” Riesner joined as a permanent member. The band continued with releases such as Flammentriebe (2011), Freiheit (2014), and Du wilde Liebe sei (2021).
