Fred Morrison, born in 1963 in Bishopton, Renfrewshire, Scotland, is a Scottish musician and composer known for his proficiency on traditional instruments. He began his career as a professional musician playing the Great Highland Bagpipes, Scottish smallpipes, Border pipes, low whistle, Northumbrian Smallpipes, and uilleann pipes. His solo albums include The Broken Chanter (1993) and The Sound of the Sun (2000). He has collaborated with bands such as Clan Alba and Capercaillie. Notable tunes include "Passing Places" and "Seonaidh's Tune". Morrison holds the record for the most Macallan/MacCrimmon Trophies at the Lorient festival, having received it ten times.
