Rebellion, a German power metal band, was formed in 2001 by guitarist Uwe Lulis after he departed from Grave Digger. With bassist Tomi Göttlich and other musicians, they signed with Drakkar Records and released their debut album, Shakespeare's Macbeth – A Tragedy in Steel, in 2002. The band supported Running Wild on tour and played at the Wacken Open Air festival that year. Their second album, Born a Rebel, was released in 2003. In 2005, Rebellion switched to Massacre Records and began their Viking trilogy with Sagas of Iceland – The History of the Vikings Part 1. After a lineup change in 2010, Rebellion released Arminius – Furor Teutonicus in 2012.
