Eddie Holman, born Edward Holman on 3 June 1946 in Norfolk, Virginia, is an American singer known for his falsetto voice. He began his musical journey at a young age, performing in various Off-Broadway productions and appearing as "Little" Eddie Holman in the NBC series The Children’s Hour. His first single, "What You Don’t Know (Won’t Hurt You)", was released in 1962. He signed with Cameo-Parkway Records in 1965, where his debut single "This Can't Be True" reached number 57 on the Billboard Hot 100. He moved to Bell Records in 1968 and then to ABC Records in 1969. His cover of "Hey There Lonely Girl", a reworked version of Ruby and the Romantics' hit, peaked at number two on the US charts in February 1970 and reached number one in Canada. The song also topped the UK Singles Chart in November 1974, becoming his biggest international success. He continued to release hits through the early 1970s, including "Don’t Stop Now / Since I Don’t Have You", which charted on both R&B and Hot 100 lists. He later released gospel albums under his own label, Agape Records, and was honoured by the Apollo Theater in 2007 for his 50 years in show business. He was inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame in 2016 and continued to perform into the 2010s and 2020s.
