Sigbjørn Apeland is a Norwegian musician and scientist born in Norway in 1966. Apeland graduated in performing church music in 1988 and ethnomusicology in 1998. Their career includes work blending folk, church, and improvisational music. Apeland's discography includes recordings with Nils Økland (1995), Reidun Horvei (1998), and Agnes Buen Garnås (2002). Their collaboration albums include Fryd (1998), Den blide sol (2007), and 1982 (2009). Apeland's solo recording Glossolalia was released in 2011. In 2014, Apeland received the Vossajazzprisen award.
