G.I.S.M., a Japanese hardcore punk band formed in Tokyo in 1981 and made their live debut at the University of Tokyo's Akamon Gig. The acronym G.I.S.M. represented various phrases over time, including "God In the Schizoid Mind." Its members included vocalist Sakevi Yokoyama, guitarist Randy Uchida, bassist Kannon, and drummer Hiroshima. Their debut album, Detestation, was released in 1983 on Dogma Records. In 1987, they released their second album, Military Affairs Neurotic. The band's final album, SoniCRIME Therapy, came out in 2002 with a lineup that included Kiichi Takahashi on bass and Ironfist Tatsushima on drums. Randy Uchida passed away from cancer shortly after its release, leading to the band's disbandment following two memorial performances in Tokyo. In 2016, the band reunited to perform at the Roadburn Festival in the Netherlands, marking their first show in over a decade and their first performance outside of Japan.
