Disfear, a Swedish d-beat/crust punk band from Nyköping, was formed in 1989 under the name Anti-Bofors by guitarist Björn Pettersson and bassist Henke Frykman. The band initially released an EP before changing their name to Disfear with the addition of vocalist Jeppe Lerjerud. In 1992, they recorded their first self-titled single at Sunlight Studios with producer Tomas Skogsberg. Their debut EP, A Brutal Sight of War, followed in 1993 before the band briefly disbanded. Reuniting in 1994 with new drummer Jallo Lehto, Disfear released their first album Soul Scars in 1995 through Distortion Records and toured Sweden and England, including shows with Doom. The lineup evolved over the years, later including vocalist Tomas “Tompa” Lindberg and drummer Marcus Andersson. Their subsequent albums include Everyday Slaughter (1997), Misanthropic Generation (2003), and Live the Storm (2008).
