Giampiero Scalamogna, known professionally as Gepy & Gepy, was an Italian singer, songwriter, and producer born on June 13, 1943, in Rome, Italy. He began his music career in 1965 by founding the duo Dany & Gepy with Daniela Casa and soon after started his solo career under the name Gepy & Gepy. His initial releases included the 1967 single "Baby è un'abitudine averti qui / Una strada". In the 1970s, he collaborated with Ornella Vanoni on the successful duet "Più". In the late 1970s, Scalamogna shifted focus to disco music, releasing the album Body to Body (1979) and notable tracks like "Body to Body" and "Blu". His song "African Love Song" was featured in Nicky Siano's playlist at Studio 54. Gepy & Gepy also released the album The Best in 1994. He died on July 3, 2010, from severe pneumonia.
