Genaro Salinas Cardona, born on September 19, 1919, in Tampico, Mexico, was known as a Mexican tenor and singer. He demonstrated vocal talent from an early age and received formal training at the Giadam Academy of Music. His breakthrough came in 1939 when he won a radio contest organized by XES. Salinas began his professional career on Roberto Soto's program at Teatro Lírico del Distrito Federal and later joined the XEW radio station, earning the moniker "La voz de oro de México." In 1941, he released his first recordings with RCA Víctor, including popular boleros like "Silverio" and "Cuerdas de mi Guitarra". He performed in Cuba and Argentina. After returning to Mexico in 1952, Salinas recorded with RCA Victor. His career was marked by personal struggles and financial difficulties. On April 28, 1957, Salinas died in Caracas, Venezuela, at the age of 37.
