The Mighty Echoes, an American a cappella doo-wop quartet from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1987 during the production of Harvey Shield's musical 1284: The Pied Piper. The group gained early recognition through appearances on various TV shows including Frank's Place, Family Matters, and Murphy Brown. Their debut album, A Cappella Doo Wop, was released in 1992. In the following years, they appeared in the feature film Wilder Napalm, where they performed "Ring of Fire", "Heat Wave", "Duke of Earl" and "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire". The Mighty Echoes continued with album releases such as Love from Echo Park (1996), Doo Wop 'Til You Drop (2003), A Cappella Cool (2006) and Doo Wop Around the Christmas Tree (2006). The group has performed regularly in Southern California and sporadically around the world, focusing on songs from or reminiscent of the classic doo-wop era.
