Cyril John Curnin, known professionally as Cy Curnin, is an English singer-songwriter born on December 12, 1957, in Wimbledon, London. In 1979, Curnin formed the new wave band The Fixx with Adam Woods. Initially performing as Portraits and The Fix, the ensemble signed with MCA Records. The group's recording career included the songs “One Thing Leads to Another”, “Saved by Zero”, “Are We Ourselves?”, and “Secret Separation”, each of which reached the number 20 position on the Billboard Hot 100. Curnin also established a solo recording career, featuring the albums Mayfly (2005), The Returning Sun (2007), Solar Minimum (2009), The Horse's Mouth (2013), and Lockdown (2020). He also recorded the ambient EP Cinema for the Blind in 2012. Curnin collaborated with performers including Tina Turner on the album Private Dancer and provided vocals for Rupert Hine on the song “With One Look (The Wildest Dream)” for the film Better Off Dead. He also participated in the world music album One World One Voice in 1990.
