Rizwan Ahmed, born 1 December 1982 in Wembley, London, is a British actor and rapper who began his music career on pirate radio and in freestyle battles, releasing the single "Post 9/11 Blues" in 2006. In 2010, he released the maxi-single "Hundreds & Thousands", followed by "Get on It" the same year. In 2011 he signed with Tru Thoughts and released his debut album MICroscope. Subsequent releases included "All of You" (2012), "Mucky" (2012), the EP Englistan (2016), "Cashmere" (2016) with Swet Shop Boys, and his second album The Long Goodbye (2020). "Englistan" and "Cashmere" received critical acclaim, and The Long Goodbye earned the Academy Award for Best Live‑Action Short Film. Riz Ahmed collaborated on the track "Immigrants (We Get the Job Done)" on Hamilton Mixtape, which reached the top of the Billboard 200. He has performed with Heems and Scroobius Pip and received a 2017 MTV Video Music Award for Best Fight Against the System. Ahmed remains a noted voice in music‑film cross‑overs. In 2026, he released the single "We Good?", which reached number 17 on the British Asian Music chart.
