Birmingham 6 is a Danish electro-industrial and EBM group formed in 1991, founded by Kim Løhde Petersen and Michael Hillerup. The group's name is derived from the Birmingham Six, a group of Irish men wrongfully convicted for the Birmingham pub bombings. Their debut release, the single "Israel" (1992), came out through Neo Ego and Discomania. In 1993, they released their first EP, Contagious (1993). The band's first full-length album, Mindhallucination (1994), was released through Transfixion Records. Their subsequent albums include Assassinate (1995), Error of Judgement (1996), and the compilation album Resurrection (1999). Notable songs include "Israel", which addresses the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and "Policestate", inspired by the 1993 Copenhagen riots. Birmingham 6 toured, including a five-week U.S. tour in 1997 with Rorschach Test. They also contributed to various compilations and covered songs by KMFDM and AC/DC. Other notable releases include the remix album To Protect and to Serve (1996).
