Otto Wiener, born on February 13, 1911, in Vienna, Austria, was an Austrian opera baritone singer. After studying veterinary medicine, he pursued vocal training under Hans Duhan. Wiener began his singing career in 1939 as a concert singer and made his operatic debut in 1953 at the Stadttheater Graz in Simone Boccanegra. He performed regularly at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein from 1956 to 1959, and at the Salzburg Festival in 1952. From 1957 to 1963, he was part of the Bayreuther Festspiele ensemble, performing roles like Hans Sachs in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and Wotan in Der Ring des Nibelungen. Wiener joined the Wiener Staatsoper in 1957, where he performed nearly 30 different roles over 600 performances until his retirement in 1976. He also sang at the Bayerische Staatsoper from 1960 to 1970 and was awarded the title Kammersänger in 1964. Wiener died on August 5, 2000.
