Emma Rosario Junaro Durán, born on November 1, 1953, in Oruro, Bolivia, is a singer and songwriter known for her contributions to Latin American folk music (nueva canción latinoamericana). Her artistic debut occurred at the Teatro Municipal de Oruro at age 17. Her first significant recognition in music came in 1980 when she won a prize with composer Jesús “Jechu” Durán. Her debut album, Resolana (1981), released by the Campo record label, gained popularity for its title track and marked her unique style. Her career included notable albums such as Emma Junaro en Vivo (1983), recorded in La Paz. She collaborated with various artists on El Paraguas (1993) and Obras maestras de Compositores bolivianos del siglo XX.
