Gladys Moreno Cuéllar, also known as Gladys Moreno, born on November 28, 1933, in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, was a singer known for her contributions to world music. Her musical journey began at a young age, influenced by the chovenas and taquiraris sung by her mother. At the age of 15, Moreno made her official debut on Radio Electra in La Paz and subsequently recorded her first singles with the ensemble Los Planetas, including "Haragán" and "Cuando un Camba se enamora". She was recognized as the "Embajadora de la Canción Boliviana" in 1962 and received the Orden del Cóndor de los Andes. Moreno passed away on February 3, 2005, leaving behind a rich musical legacy that includes iconic songs like "Viva Santacruz" and a lasting impact on Bolivian culture.
