JoJo Siwa (born Joelle Joanie Siwa on 19 May 2003 in Omaha, Nebraska) is an American singer, dancer, actor and media personality who rose to fame as a teen star and has since evolved into a multifaceted entertainer. She first gained national attention as a contestant on Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition in 2013 and later appeared on Dance Moms from 2015 to 2016. Her vibrant personality and signature oversized bows quickly made her a favorite among fans. In 2016, she released the single "Boomerang", an anti-bullying anthem that garnered over one billion views on YouTube and earned her a record deal with Nickelodeon. She went on to release a number of charting EPs and singles, including 2020 EP JoJo's Rockin' Christmas. In 2021, she came out as pansexual and later identified as queer. She made history on Dancing with the Stars as part of the first same-sex dancing partnership, finishing second with Jenna Johnson. In 2024, she released new EP Guilty Pleasure, marking a shift towards a more mature, dance-pop sound. The lead single, "Karma", featured a music video that showcased her evolving artistic vision. The following year, she released a cover of the Kim Carnes classic "Bette Davis Eyes".
