Joanna Smith, born May 9, 1985, in Crestview, Georgia, is an American country music singer. She started her career playing with Mustang Sally at age 18 before focusing on songwriting and recording demos. In 2007, she signed a publishing contract with Big Borrassa Music and wrote "Flying By" for Billy Ray Cyrus' album Home at Last. That year, her rendition of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" was included on the compilation album Song of America (2007). In 2010, Smith released the single "Gettin' Married" under Columbia Records Nashville. After label restructuring, she moved to BNA Records and RCA. In 2016, she released an EP called Introducing Jo Smith under the name Jo Smith.
