Mauro Nardi, born Antonio Borrelli on April 26, 1954, in Naples, Italy, is an Italian singer. He began his career at age 19 as part of an RAI orchestra conducted by Gianni Desideri. His early involvement was supported by the ATAF agency, led by Antonio Fusco and Franco Baldi. Nardi gained wider recognition in 1981 when he performed “Doce e amaro” at the Festival of Naples. This performance marked a significant breakthrough and led to collaborations with notable figures such as Nino D’Angelo, who wrote two songs for him. These songs were included in his first and second LPs, Ricordi and Illusione, which addressed themes of melodic song and Neapolitan love. In addition to his musical career, Nardi worked on his interpretations of Neapolitan melodrama in theater, including performances in works based on his own hits.
