German rock group Mr. Ed Jumps The Gun, was formed in the early 1990s and consisted of members Rapper M.C.O., guitarist J.D., bassist Big H, and drummer Mr. Ho. The band's name translates to "Mr. Ed makes an early start," referencing the talking horse from the television series of the same name. Their music style was characterised by rock with punk influences. The group gained prominence through cover versions of successful rock hits from the 1960s and 1970s, including a rendition of Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" featured in Dance Dance Revolution. Mr. Ed Jumps The Gun achieved their breakthrough in 1995 with the release of "Wild Thing", which became one of their signature songs. This was followed by another hit in 1996 with their version of Casey Jones & the Governors' "Don’t Ha Ha". Their album Heehaw! spent over three months in the charts that year, solidifying their place in the German rock scene. Other notable releases include Boom! Boom! (1995), and Face Now! (1997).
