Glauco Venier is an Italian jazz pianist and composer who studied at the Conservatory of Udine and Berklee College of Music. He debuted with the album Finlandia (1991) and established himself through collaborations with Enrico Rava and Lee Konitz. In 2002, he formed a long-standing trio with Klaus Gesing and Norma Winstone, releasing Chamber Music (2004). The trio’s subsequent recording, Distances (2008), earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album. Venier’s career includes performances with the WDR Big Band and the WDR Rundfunkorchester, further showcasing his versatility. His solo discography includes Miniatures (2016), released via ECM Records.
