Gianfranco Michele Maisano, known professionally as Michele, was born on June 22, 1944, in Vigevano, Italy. He recorded his first single at 14 years old. His breakthrough came in 1963 with "Se mi vuoi lasciare", which won the Cantagiro music competition and topped the Italian hit-parade. Throughout the 1960s, Michele released several EPs and gained success with covers of Elvis Presley songs. In 1970, he participated in the Sanremo Festival with "L'addio" and again in 1972 with "Forestiero". His notable albums include Michele (1963) and Vivendo Cantando (1971). Michele also ventured into acting, appearing in films such as Addio mamma.
