Abdullah Miniawy, born on March 29, 1994, in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, is an Egyptian singer-songwriter and trumpeter. He migrated to Egypt in 2011, settling first in El-Fayoum before moving to Cairo. During the early revolutionary movements, Miniawy performed at a protest for the first time. His early compositions were electronic and freely available online. In 2015, he participated in the project 99 with Amir Saffar and Marc Nammour and contributed to Wael Shawky's exhibition at MoMA. His poem "Étudiants du Tiers-Monde" (2016) addressed the murder of Giulio Regeni and was widely circulated. That year, he released Attempts to the Middle and Daraje, with Carl-Gari, which was selected by NPR as one of the 50 Best Albums of 2016. In 2018, he released Shipster, followed by The Act of Falling from the 8th Floor in 2019.
