Bourbonese Qualk was an English experimental music group that was active between 1980 and 2003. The ensemble emerged from the early 1980s industrial and experimental music tape scene and was known for politically charged lyrics and an avant-garde sound. They released their debut studio album, Laughing Afternoon, (1983) through the label Recloose Organisation. In 1984, the group occupied a building known as The Ambulance Station in South London to serve as a base for radical activism and artist coordination. Their recordings include the albums Hope (1984), The Spike (1985), Preparing For Power (1986), My Government is My Soul (1990), and Feeding the Hungry Ghost (1994). Bourbonese Qualk disbanded following the death of Andy Wilson in 2003. Posthumous releases by them include the album Lies (2015).
