Ingfried Hoffmann is a German jazz musician, arranger and composer. He studied classical piano in Berlin and Düsseldorf. Hoffmann's first jazz recordings were made as early as 1956 under his own name. From 1963 onwards, he was known for his participation in Klaus Doldinger's quartet. He released notable albums such as From Twen With Love (1966) and contributed to the soundtrack of Will-Tremper's film Playgirl. In 1969, he formed Steel Organ, touring Europe, South America, and North Africa. Hoffmann retired from jazz in 1970 but continued as a composer and arranger, composing music for various television series including Sesamstraße.
