Diether Krebs, born on August 11, 1947, in Essen, Germany, is a German cabaret singer and comedian. He grew up in the southeast district of Essen, where his parents ran an office supply store. Krebs' initial theatrical experience came during his school years at Humboldt-Gymnasium, where he participated in amateur theater groups. His acting career began with a contract at Stadttheater Oberhausen in 1970, followed by minor film roles, notably in Zoff (1971). Krebs gained prominence through his role as the brash son-in-law "Michael Graf" in the television series Ein Herz und eine Seele from 1973 to 1974. His musical career took off in 1991 with the release of "Ich Bin Der Martin, Ne...?! (Martin My Love)", which reached third place on the German hit parade. This success was followed by Santamarghuaritanobiledimontepulciano - Du Kleines Fischerdorf and Gestatten, Mein Name Ist Krups! in 1998. Krebs also appeared as a presenter for various shows, including the MDR's New Year's Eve Gala from 1996 to 1999. Despite facing health issues and declining popularity in his later years, Diether Krebs continued performing until his death on January 4, 2000.
