Headswim, an English alternative rock band active during the 1990s, formed in Essex, England in 1989 under the name Blinder. The initial lineup consisted of Daniel Glendining on guitar and vocals, his brother Tom Glendining on drums, Nick Watts on keyboards and backing vocals, and Matt Pegg on bass guitar. After changing their name to Headswim in 1992 and signing with Sony Music subsidiary Epic Records, they released their debut album Flood in 1994. The album's third single "Crawl" charted at number 64 in the UK. Following a hiatus due to personal tragedy, Headswim re-emerged in 1997 with Despite Yourself, which featured the Top 30 UK hit single "Tourniquet". They supported Kula Shaker on a US tour but were subsequently dropped by Sony. After releasing one more single "Dusty Road" in 2000, Headswim disbanded in early 2001. Daniel Glendining went on to form BlackCar and contributed to various film scores; Tom Glendining played drums for Tenebrous Liar and collaborated with his brother on that project; Nick Watts became a graphic designer but continued playing keyboards for Mew during tours. In May 2022, Headswim reunited for a one-off gig at Camden Underworld to celebrate the release of a deluxe version of Flood by Trapped Animal Records.
