Blazin' Squad

1325 fans

Strutting around in their track suits and bright white trainers, Blazin' Squad burst on the pop scene in 2002. Formed through a mutual love of hip hop by ten school friends from Chingford, Essex, the group clubbed together £200 to record a demo, which became a surprise hit on pirate radio and earned the lads a deal with EastWest Records. Barely past their 16th birthdays, they released a reworking of Bone Thugz N Harmony's Crossroads and soon found themselves with a Number 1 hit. More Top 10 hits followed with Love On The Line, We Just Be Dreamin, Flip Reverse and Here For One, and they quickly became pin-ups for millions of adoring teenage girls. Album sales were unspectacular, though, and the group split in 2004 with Strider, Flava and Kenzie going on to have a couple hits as Friday Hill. Kenzie was last seen as a runner-up on Celebrity Big Brother in 2005 before becoming a fitness instructor.
