Brighton Rock was a Canadian hard rock band formed in 1982 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Their breakthrough came when their song "Breakin' Down The Barricade" was included in CILQ's Q107 Homegrown compilation (1984), leading them to change their name from Heart Attack to Brighton Rock. They released their self-titled EP Brighton Rock in 1985 and signed with WEA for their debut album Young, Wild and Free (1986), which included the hit singles "We Came To Rock" and "Can't Wait For The Night". Their second album, Take A Deep Breath, was released in 1988 and became their most commercially successful. The band toured Ontario to support their album Love Machine (1991) and broke up after their last show in 1992 due to burnout and frustration. Brighton Rock regrouped for a reunion tour in 2001 and subsequently released the live album A Room For Five Live in 2002. The band continued to perform sporadically until Gerry McGhee died from cancer in 2020.
