Han Seung-yeon, also known as Seungyeon, is a South Korean singer and actress. She was born on July 24, 1988, in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Her career as a child actress started with minor roles throughout the nineties in Dear Ends, Summer Showers, and Star in My Heart. She made her music debut as the main vocalist of the girl group Kara in March of 2007. Alongside her group activities, she engaged in various solo ventures, including VJing for MSL Break and co-hosting Boys and Girls Music Countdown. In 2009, she collaborated with rapper Nassun on the single "Come to Play" and released her first solo song "Miracle" for the movie soundtrack Why Did You Come to My House? Over the following years, she continued to build her acting career with roles in dramas such as Pure Love and Jang Bo-ri is Here! She released her first solo single "Guilty" in 2012 and starred in her first leading role in Her Lovely Heels in 2014. After Kara disbanded in 2016, she signed with J Wide Company and starred in the drama Hello, My Twenties! and its sequel. In 2017, Han Seung-yeon released her first Japanese mini-album Uchuu. She continued juggling her acting and music careers with releases such as Aozora e (2019) and the single "Annyeong tto Annyeong" from the Perfume OST. In 2021, she won the Fantastic Actor Jury's Special Mention Award for her role in the film Show Me the Ghost at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
