Touch is an American hard‑rock group originating from New York City, formed in 1978 by songwriter and keyboardist Mark Mangold, drummer Glen Kithcart, guitarist Craig Brooks, and bassist Doug Howard, all of whom had previously played in American Tears. Their breakthrough came when a demo of "When The Spirit Moves You" captured the attention of manager Bruce Payne, leading to an Atco Records deal and the release of the self‑titled album Touch in 1980; the single reached Number 65 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Number 77 on Cashbox. The follow‑up single "Don't You Know What Love Is" peaked at Number 69 on the Hot 100 and gained AOR radio play in the United States and the United Kingdom. In 1980 Touch became the first band to perform at the inaugural Monsters of Rock festival at Castle Donington, with a live version of "Don't You Know What Love Is" appearing on the festival’s compilation LP. A second album produced by Todd Rundgren was recorded in 1981–82 but remained unreleased. After a period of inactivity, the original lineup reunited in 2020, issuing the album Tomorrow Never Comes on 6 March 2021; the band announced a 2024 Firefest appearance, marking a renewed presence in the rock scene.
