Erik Rug, born in Vittel, France, is a French DJ and producer of house music. Raised by his paternal grandparents, Erik's early musical influences came from his grandfather, who played the violin and piano. At 15, Erik began DJing at Le Jean Lamour club in Nancy. In 1978, he became a resident DJ at Rose Bonbon-Olympia. Later, he met Laurent Garnier and organized the H30 parties at La Locomotive. In 1992, Erik participated in France's first authorized rave event at The Grande Arche, alongside DJs like Laurent Garnier and Jerome Pacman. His work includes mixing for compilations such as Rave Master Mixers Vol. 7 and Vol. 8 (1993) and French Fried Funk (1997) and collaborating with artists from the French Touch movement.
