Kara-Lis Coverdale, also known as K-LC, was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She is a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist specializing in classical music. Coverdale began studying piano at age five and started composing her own music by fourteen. She attended The University of Western Ontario, where she studied piano, composition, and musicology. Coverdale's career includes notable albums such as A 480 (2014), Aftertouches (2015), and Sirens with LXV (2015). Her EP Grafts (2017) was named an album of the year by several publications. She has performed extensively in Europe, North America, and Australia, receiving critical acclaim from outlets like The New York Times and The Guardian. Coverdale has collaborated with various artists, including Tim Hecker. In 2025, she releaed three albums in a row : From Where You Came released in May, A Series of Actions in a Sphere of Forever in September, and Changes in Air in November.
