Big ‡ Brave is a Canadian experimental metal band from Montreal, formed in 2012 by Robin Wattie, Mathieu Bernard Ball, and Louis-Alexandre Beauregard. The trio initially played minimalist folk music before releasing their debut EP An Understanding Between People in 2012. Their first full-length album, Feral Verdure, was released in 2014, followed by Au De La in 2015, incorporating elements of drone and post-rock. In 2017, their third album, Ardor, featured guest appearances from Jessica Moss and Thierry Amar. Louis-Alexandre Beauregard left the group in 2018 and was replaced by Loel Campbell, who was later succeeded by Tasy Hudson. Big ‡ Brave released Nature Morte in February 2023, which was longlisted for the Polaris Music Prize.
