Burst, a Swedish metal band from Kristinehamn, was formed in 1993 under the name Dislars by Linus Jägerskog on vocals, Jonas Rydberg on guitar, Jesper Liveröd on bass, and Patrik Hultin on drums. Initially playing crustcore, grindcore, and hardcore punk, Burst released two EPs before changing their name to reflect a shift towards more complex music. Their first album, Loss of Innocence, was released in 1997. In 2000, they signed with Melon Records for the release of Conquest: Writhe. The band's subsequent albums included In Coveting Ways (2002), Prey On Life (2003), and Origo (2005). Burst toured extensively across Europe, Scandinavia, and the UK with notable acts such as Mastodon and The Dillinger Escape Plan. Their final album, Lazarus Bird, was released in 2008.
