September Girls was a five-piece Irish noise pop band from Dublin, formed in September 2011 after the breakup of Talulah Does the Hula. They added drummer Sarah Grimes and drew inspiration from garage rock. Their first gig was in November 2011, and they released several singles between 2012 and 2013, including "Green Eyed" and "Ships". In 2013, September Girls signed to Fortuna Pop! and released their debut album Cursing the Sea (2014), featuring the single "Heartbeats", which received critical acclaim with a Metacritic score of 72. The band toured in support of the album, appearing at festivals such as Body&Soul and SXSW. In winter 2014, they released the EP Veneer, and in April 2016, they released their second studio album Age of Indignation.
