Rüdiger Hoffmann (born March 30, 1964 in Paderborn) is a German cabaret artist and musician. He grew up in Paderborn and attended the Reismann-Gymnasium. He gained his first stage experience with school rock and theater groups as well as the cabaret group "Die Pappnasen". After graduating from high school, he began studying to become a music teacher, but dropped out and has been performing solo since the mid-1980s. Rüdiger Hoffmann became famous in the early 1990s through appearances with Jürgen Becker and his roles in the Quatsch Comedy Club and on RTL Samstag Nacht. On August 12, 1995, he opened for the Rolling Stones on their Voodoo Lounge Tour at the open air in Schüttorf - with around 80,000 spectators. His style is characterized by his dry humour, his slow way of speaking ("Yes, hello first of all! I don't know if you knew, but ...") and his trademark chair. He occasionally accompanies himself on the piano. In 2007, his first purely musical cabaret album Sex oder Liebe is released, with a rocky twist and the song "Testosteron" close to the sound of Rammstein. Before and after this, he released several successful sound and video albums:Der Hauptgewinner (1995, gold status), Es ist furchtbar aber es geht (1997, with Jürgen Becker), Asien. Asia. (1998), Ich komme ...! (2000), Ekstase (2003), Das Beste vom Besten (2006), Der Atem des Drachen (2007), Das beste aus 25 Jahren (2010), Obwohl (2010), Aprikosenmarmelade (2015) and Ich hab's doch nur gut gemeint (2016).
