Morris E. Day, born on December 13, 1957, in the United States of America, is an American singer known for his contributions to contemporary R&B, funk, and soul music. Day's musical journey began in his teenage years when he and Prince attended the same high school in Minneapolis and formed the band Grand Central in 1974. This early collaboration laid the groundwork for Day's future endeavors. Day is best known as the lead singer of The Time, a group closely associated with Prince. The band released several notable albums, including What Time Is It? (1982), Ice Cream Castle (1984), and Pandemonium (1990). Some of their standout songs include "The Walk", "Jungle Love", and "Gigolos Get Lonely Too". In addition to his work with The Time, Day released solo albums such as Color of Success (1985) and Daydreaming (1987). His most recent single is "Grown Man" (2022). Day also ventured into acting, appearing in films like Purple Rain (1984) and Graffiti Bridge (1990), as well as television shows such as New Attitude, Eve, and Moesha. In 2022, Morris announced his final solo album Last Call.
