Hawnay Troof, an American electronic indie band formed in late 2001, was founded by Vice Cooler. The band's early performances were guerrilla-style sets that caught the attention of notable acts like Quintron and Miss Pussycat. Hawnay Troof signed to Retard Disco, releasing their debut album Get Up! Resolution: Love in 2003. The band toured extensively, performing in Iceland, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe with acts such as The Gossip. Their subsequent albums included Dollar and Deed (2006) and Islands of Ayle (2008), the latter of which received critical acclaim, including a 7.5 rating from Pitchfork. Notable collaborations featured Allison Wolfe, Jenny Hoyston, Drew Daniel, and Stereo Total. Hawnay Troof's album, Daggers at the Moon, was released in 2009.
