Liz Allbee is an American trumpeter. She studied music and media studies at Mills College in Oakland, California, and has performed with artists such as Anthony Braxton and the Rova Saxophone Quartet. Her work is associated with contemporary classical music, contemporary improvisation, electroacoustic music, and noise. Her releases include Quarry Tones (2005), Plants That Kill (2007), Warm Marrow (2009), Theseus Vs. (2010), and Frost (2017), among others. In 2009, she relocated to Berlin, Germany, where she has collaborated with musicians including Axel Dörner and Michael Renkel. Since 2013, she has been a member of the performance group XLR-Female alongside Antje Vowinckel, Steffi Weismann, Anouschka Trocker, and Margarete Huber, and she has also composed music for film and theater and participated in numerous international festivals.
