Imprecation, an American black and death metal band from Houston, Texas, was formed in 1991 by drummer Ruben Elizondo and guitarist Phil Westmoreland. Their first release, the demo Ceremony of the Nine Angels, came out in 1992. In 1993, they released their EP Sigil Of Baphomet through Drowned Productions. After lineup changes, including the departure of David Herrera and Westmoreland, Imprecation continued with Mark Beecher on vocals and Todd Smith on guitar. The band recorded a demo in 1994, which included tracks later featured on Theurgia Goetia Summa. In 1998, after failing to secure a record deal, the group disbanded. They reunited in 2009 with a new lineup and released their debut album, Satanae Tenebris Infinita, in 2013 through Dark Descent Records.
