Fresh Maggots is a folk duo from Nuneaton, Warwickshire in England, consisting of Mick Burgoyne and Leigh Dolphin. The duo played various instruments including guitars, glockenspiel, tin whistles, and strings. Fresh Maggots were discovered by Mike Berry of the Sparta Florida Music Company in September 1970 while performing at Wolvey village hall. They signed a publishing deal with the company and later released their debut album Fresh Maggots on RCA Records in October 1971. Recorded at Radio Luxembourg studios, the album received favorable reviews but modest sales. The duo played two live shows broadcast by BBC Radio 1 and released one single, "Car Song" (1971), before disbanding. In 2006, their debut album was reissued on Sunbeam label in the UK and Amber Soundroom in Germany, gaining renewed interest and critical acclaim. Fresh Maggots reunited in 2017 and released Waiting for the Sun in October 2020.
