The Rondelles were an American indie pop band from Albuquerque, New Mexico. The group formed in the mid-1990s while the members were still in high school, and consisted of Juliet Swango on guitar and vocals, Yukiko Moynihan on bass, and Oakley Munson on drums and keyboard. Their debut single, "He's Out of Sight," was released in 1996. The band gained traction with their first album, Fiction Romance Fast Machines, released in 1998 by Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley's Smells Like Records. They supported notable acts such as Sleater-Kinney and Sonic Youth, and were known for their distinctive garage rock sound, including Munson's unique setup of playing drums standing up while handling keyboards. In 2000, they recorded their second and final album, The Fox, with producer Trevor Kampmann in Washington, D.C. The band disbanded in late summer of 2001 after their first European tour, which included lineup changes with Corey Shane and Darian Zahedi. Post-breakup, members pursued various musical projects, including Juliet Swango's band The Foxx and Oakley Munson’s involvement with The Witnesses and The Black Lips. The Rondelles also played reunion shows in 2007 and 2010.
