Donna Marie Amato, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is an American pianist who studied under Ozan Marsh and received a Bachelor of Music Arts from the University of Arizona in 1983. She continued her studies with Louis Kentner in London and Gaby Casadesus in Paris, earning a Diploma d'Onore from Guido Agosti's masterclass series in Siena, Italy. Amato has recorded extensively for Altarus Records, notably performing works by Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji. She gave the first-ever performance of his Piano Concerto No. 5 in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and premiered his Symphonia brevis (Piano Symphony No. 5) in New York in 2004, releasing a recording in 2011. Additionally, Amato has performed and recorded works by Ethelbert Nevin from her hometown of Edgeworth, Pennsylvania, and released the album Cooman : Piano Music.
