Michael Timothy Abrahams, born 7 April 1943 in Luton, Bedfordshire, was a British guitarist and singer who first learned guitar in the early 1960s. His breakthrough came in 1967 when he formed McGregor’s Engine, which attracted Ian Anderson and led to Mick Abrahams joining the original line‑up of Jethro Tull; he recorded the debut album This Was (1968) before leaving over stylistic differences. He then founded Blodwyn Pig, releasing Ahead Rings Out (1969) and Getting to This (1970). Mick Abrahams pursued a solo career with albums such as Mick Abrahams (1971), All Said and Done (1991), Mick’s Back (1996), and Revived! (2015). He collaborated with former Jethro Tull members and continued to record until his death on 19 December 2025.
