Echolyn, an American progressive rock band from eastern Pennsylvania, was formed in 1989. The band released their self-titled debut album in 1991, followed by Suffocating the Bloom and EP …And Every Blossom. In 1994, Echolyn signed to Epic Records and released As the World, but due to poor sales, Sony dropped them later that year, and the band split up. The band reformed in spring 2000 and released several albums, including Cowboy Poems Free (2000), Mei (2002), and The End Is Beautiful (2005). In June 2012, they released an untitled album referred to as 'echolyn' or 'Window', followed by I Heard You Listening in 2015, which received positive reviews from The Progressive Aspect website.
