Michael Lentz, born on May 15, 1964, in Düren, Germany, is a German writer, sound poet, and musician. He attended the Stiftische Gymnasium Düren before studying Germanistics, History, and Philosophy at universities in Aachen, Munich, and Siegen. In 1985, he published his first literary work, Zur Kenntnisnahme, marking an early breakthrough in his writing career. Lentz is known for his contributions to experimental literature and sound poetry, as well as his involvement in collaborative music projects. In 2019, he collaborated on the release of the album Lentz Geisse Wertmüller, an experimental music recording with Gunnar Geisse and Michael Wertmüller.
